1. Who is responsible for your data
The holder of the personal database is Atenea Trade Bussines S.A.C., which operates under the trade name Atenea Seguros, RUC 20612302368, located at Jr. Batalla de San Juan Nro. 175.
We are an insurance broker registered with the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Funds (SBS). For any question about this policy you can write to us at contacto@ateneaseguros.pe or on WhatsApp +51 975 593 174.
We process your data in accordance with Law No. 29733, the Personal Data Protection Law, and its Regulations approved by Supreme Decree No. 016-2024-JUS.
2. What data we collect
We only ask for what is necessary to handle your request. Depending on the form you use, we may receive:
- Quick quote: type of insurance, full name, ID number and WhatsApp or mobile number.
- Quotes by type of insurance: name, WhatsApp, product of interest and a piece of data that lets us quote, for example the plate, make and year of the vehicle, the age and number of beneficiaries, the district and value of the property, the destination and travel date, your company's industry or the number of employees.
- Contact form: name, mobile, email, type of insurance of interest and the message you write to us.
- Complaints Book: names, type and number of document, address, phone, email and the details of your claim or complaint.
- WhatsApp, calls and email: the information you share when talking to our advisors.
We ask you not to send health data through this website's forms. If we need that information to quote health or life insurance, we will request it through a direct channel and with your express written consent, as the law requires for sensitive data.
3. What we use it for
We use your data to:
- Handle your request and prepare quotes.
- Compare alternatives between insurers and explain coverage, exclusions and conditions to you.
- Contact you by WhatsApp, phone or email about your request.
- Manage the taking out, renewal and endorsements of your policies, and support you if a claim occurs, when you are a client.
- Handle claims, complaints and requests to exercise rights.
- Comply with legal obligations and requirements from authorities such as the SBS, INDECOPI or SUNAT.
We do not use your data to send you advertising unless you give separate consent. We do not sell or rent your data.
4. Why we can process it
We process your data because you give your consent by submitting a form or writing to us, because it is necessary for the pre-contractual or contractual relationship you request (quoting and taking out insurance) and, in some cases, to comply with legal obligations. You can withdraw your consent at any time, without retroactive effect.
5. Who we share it with
To fulfill the purposes above we may share your data with:
- Insurers supervised by the SBS from which we request quotes or with which you take out your policy.
- Technology providers that give us web hosting, email and messaging services, always under confidentiality obligations.
- Authorities when a law or order requires it.
When you message us on WhatsApp, the conversation passes through Meta Platforms servers, which may be outside Peru. The same may happen with our hosting and email providers. In those cases it is an international data transfer, which we carry out only with providers that offer adequate levels of protection.
6. How long we keep it
If you asked us for a quote and did not take out insurance, we keep your data for up to twelve (12) months from your last contact. If you are a client, we keep it for as long as the relationship lasts and then for the periods required by insurance, tax and consumer-protection rules. Complaints Book forms are kept for at least two (2) years. Once those periods expire, we delete or anonymize the data.
7. How we protect it
We apply technical, organizational and legal measures to protect your data against loss, misuse or unauthorized access. This website uses an encrypted connection (SSL) and access to information is limited to the staff who need it to assist you.
8. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition (ARCO rights) and the others recognized by regulations at any time. To do so:
- Write to us at contacto@ateneaseguros.pe with the subject "Personal data protection".
- State your name, the right you want to exercise and attach a copy of your ID (or your representative's power of attorney).
- We will reply within the deadlines set by law.
If you consider that we did not handle your request, you can file a claim with the National Authority for Personal Data Protection of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
9. Minors
Our services are aimed at people over 18. If you are a minor, the request must be made by your parent or legal representative.
10. Cookies
This website only uses the technical cookies necessary to operate. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. YouTube videos load in enhanced privacy mode and only when you choose to play them.
11. Database registration
Our database of clients and prospective clients is registered in the National Registry of Personal Data Protection under code [registration code to be confirmed].
12. Changes to this policy
